| The Official 10,000
Steps® Program is your easy way to feeling
great |
 |
You’ll be surprised
how many steps you are already taking in an average
day.
Recent evidence shows that healthy adults should aim
to take 10,000 steps every day. Children and adolescents
can aim for even more – around 12-14,000 steps
a day. Depending on mobility or existing health problems,
senior adults should aim for a little less than 10,000
steps (Talk to us or your doctor about modifying your
target if you think you might be in this category).
However, some people manage to only walk around 3,000
steps a day without realising they are relatively inactive.
Nowadays, we’re used to taking short-cuts, even
with little chores around the house like tidying-up,
without realising it. It can be fun to instead consider
taking the ‘longer way’. |

By monitoring the number of steps you normally take
in a day, you can set goals for increasing that number
up to 10,000 steps – and beyond if you want to
continue weight loss.
